The Clear + Brilliant Perméa® treatment is optimised for brighter, more even skin tone and enhanced skin permeability for added benefits of topical skincare products when applied immediately after treatment.

How does Clear + Brilliant® work?
Clear + Brilliant® is a gentle laser that refreshes your skin from the inside out. The laser energy creates millions of microscopic treatment zones in the upper layers of the skin, replacing damaged skin with healthy, younger looking tissue.

How long does treatment take?
A topical anaesthetic is applied for 30 minutes prior to the treatment, actual treatment takes 20-30 minutes.

How many treatments are needed?
The number of treatments is tailored to your concerns and skin care desires. A minimum of 3 treatments is generally recommended. Upon consultation, the Dermal Therapist will discuss a personalised treatment regimen with you.

Who can benefit from a Clear + Brilliant® treatment?
Clear + Brilliant® is a beneficial treatment for women and men of all ages and skin types, who want to be proactive in their skin care, addressing the early signs of ageing or maintaining the look of their skin.

When do results appear and how long do they last?
The results of treatment are both immediate and progressive. A few days after the treatment, the skin will start to feel softer, look brighter and show a more even tone. Results can last for months depending on age, skin condition and how the patient protects the skin.

How do I know Clear + Brilliant® is right for me at my age?
No matter how old you are, sun exposure, environmental conditions and lifestyle can contribute to lacklustre skin. Whether you want to extend the younger look of your skin or address these early signs of ageing, Clear + Brilliant® can help.

ANTI - WRINKLE INJECTIONS

How and why do wrinkles form?
Many facial wrinkles occur when we use our muscles to form facial expressions. The wrinkles formed during these expressions are called dynamic wrinkles. When we are young our skin springs back to its initial position after facial expression, but as we get older dynamic wrinkles remain on the skin to form static wrinkles; these are wrinkles and folds that are present at rest. This process occurs because natural substances such as collagen (major structural protein in the skin), elastin (protein which causes tissue to stretch) and hyaluronic acid (which gives skin volumes) decreases with age.

What is muscle relaxant treatment?
Muscle relaxant is a purified protein that relaxes wrinkle-causing muscles, creating a rejuvenated appearance.

How do muscle relaxants work?
Muscle relaxant is used to relax specific facial muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles. Once the muscles are relaxed, you cannot contract them and continue to make undesirable facial expressions. Thus, the lines gradually smooth and new lines are prevented from forming.

How long do muscle relaxants last?
The effect can last up to 4 months, before lines slowly begin to return. Repeat treatments are recommended as effects tend to last longer.

DERMAL FILLER

What is Dermal Filler?
Dermal Filler is an injectable gel that restores natural facial contours by adding volume to your skin and lips. Dermal Filler is placed below the skin’s surface to ‘fill in’ or ‘plump up’ static facial wrinkles and folds.

When will I see results and how long will they last?
Results can be seen immediately and the majority of people resume their normal activities immediately after the procedure. Results can last between 12-18months depending on lifestyle.

HYPERHYDROSIS

What is hyperhidrosis?
Hyperhidrosis treatment or excessive sweating treatment, is a condition that affects millions of people around the world and can occur in various parts of the body including the hands, feet or underarms. Although high temperatures or stress can increase perspiration, they don’t cause hyperhidrosis. Hyperhidrosis may be an inherited trait or physiological condition that stops the body from properly regulating its temperature.

How is Hyperhidrosis treated?
Hyperhidrosis is treated using muscle relaxants. A small amount of muscle relaxant is administered into the area of concern using a very fine needle. Generally, the procedure takes around 30 minutes. Discomfort is minimal and brief.

How long until results are noticed?
After the injections, it takes about 7 days for muscle relaxants to take full effect.

How long does treatment last?
After the first treatment, the effects last an average 7 months. However, the amount of time the muscle relaxant remains effective may vary from person to person.

DOUBLE CHIN TREATMENT

Who is a candidate?
Similar to other cosmetic procedures like anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers, a consultation is required. This allows the Nurse to examine the area to see if you are a suitable candidate.

What’s involved in the treatment?
During treatment, the area will be sterilised and marked with a special grid to allow for an accurate transfer of the solution, which is injected into the skin.

How long does the treatment take?
The treatment can take between 45-60 mins

Are there any side effects?
Like any cosmetic procedure, side effects may develop, these side effects can include discomfort, swelling, redness and bruising.

After treatment, swelling may remain from 4 to 6 weeks while the deoxycholic acid is dissolving the fat, (this is an excellent indication that treatment is working).

ADVANCED SKIN NEEDLING

Can you have Advanced Skin Needling if pregnant?
Advanced Skin Needling is not recommended for pregnant or lactating women due to a number of minor reasons. The needles produce micro-injuries which trigger the natural wound healing response. This wound healing and production of new collagen requires vitamins and nutrients which would otherwise be needed for the baby so is suggested to not be used during pregnancy.
Another minor reason is simply increasing the chances of infection which is never a good idea when pregnant.

Can Advanced Skin Needling be done on Asian or African American skin?
Advanced Skin Needling can be safely performed on all skin colours and types. There is no risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation as the melanocytes remain intact, like the epidermis, during skin needling.

What is the appearance of the skin after the treatment?
After the procedure, skin will be red and flushed in appearance in a similar way to moderate sunburn. You may also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on the area being treated.

How quickly are results visible?
Visible results of skin rejuvenation are generally seen after just 6-8 weeks following procedure and improve further over time. A course of needling sessions is usually recommended to achieve optimum results.

Is Advanced Skin Needling safe?
Advanced Skin Needling does not involve injections and therefore allergic reactions and side-effects are unlikely to occur. It is minimally invasive, involves minimal downtime, rapid healing and requires simple after-care.

What are the indications for Advanced Skin Needling treatment?
Advanced Skin Needling is especially effective for aging concerns such as wrinkles, lines, folds and crow’s feet. Because collagen is produced, scars and stretch marks can also improve from treatments especially indented acne scars or chicken pox scars. Pigmentation issues can be helped including hyperpigmentation as well as hypo-pigmentation.

What are the contraindications of Advanced Skin Needling?
Absolute contraindications include; scleroderma, collagen vascular diseases or cardiac abnormalities; Rosacea and blood clotting problems; active bacterial or fungal infection; immuno-suppression; scars less than 6 months old.

THERMAGE®

What does Thermage® treat?
Thermage® procedures can effectively and safely treat fine lines and wrinkles on most body parts, including the face, neck, eyes, tummy, arms, hands, thighs and buttocks. Thermage® can also smooth uneven, dimpled skin on the body and temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite

How many treatments are needed?
Unlike many other procedures, Thermage® treatment delivers results in a single treatment for most patients. In fact, when it comes to wrinkle treatments with little to no downtime, Thermage® is one of the only non-invasive procedures on the market.

When do results appear, and how long do they last?
Visible results may be immediate, and they may appear over time in the course of your body’s natural collagen rebuilding process. For most patients, measurable results appear gradually in the two to six months following a single treatment session. Results can last years depending on your skin condition and ageing.

What does the procedure feel like?
Each time the treatment device touches your skin, you’ll feel a brief cooling sensation, followed by a deep but brief heating sensation, followed by another cooling sensation. The heating sensation is a sign that the deep layers of your skin are reaching effective temperatures for collagen remodeling.

How long do results last?
The Thermage treatment causes an immediate tightening of existing collagen with the development of new collagen and additional tightening over time. Unpublished reports by experienced doctors indicate that results may last 18 months or longer depending on your natural ageing process.

How many treatments will I need?
It typically takes just one treatment to give a nice effect. You may choose to have another treatment to obtain additional tightening but re-treatment within 6 months is not effective as the stimulated collagen growth from the first treatment can take up to 6 months to have full effect.

Is Thermage safe?
Absolutely. The Thermage procedure is very safe. Of course, as with any procedure there is always some risk and we will discuss those with you during your consultation.

Can I avoid other cosmetic procedures if I do this?
We believe that Thermage is the best skin tightening procedure available. It is a stand-alone treatment for loose skin, but we are also seeing that Thermage can enhance the results of other treatments such as Platelet Rich Plasma injections (PRP).

IPL - CUTERAPROWAVE®

What areas can be treated with ProWave®?
ProWave can remove hair from all parts of the body including the face, legs, arms, underarms and back. It can also treat sensitive areas like chest, nipples and bikini line.

What do ProWave® treatments feel like?
When the pulse of the light is delivered, some patients experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation.

How many treatments are needed?
Most areas require 4-8 treatments. However, the number of treatments required for optimal long-term benefits depends on multiple factors- hair thickness, the area treated and your hair’s growth cycle.

What happens after the treatment?
Immediately following your ProWave® treatment, the area may appear a bit red and swollen. 3-7 days after you may feel as if hair is growing but it is actually ‘shedding’ as a result of your treatment. Plucking and waxing should be avoided in between treatments.
Shaving the treated area can be done if necessary between treatments.

Are there any restrictions on my activity or anything I need to avoid in between treatments?
Following the treatment, you can return to your normal activities right away, but some redness may occur. The use of SPF is recommended on treated areas. Fake tan and sun bathing should be avoided 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks following treatments.

Why is ProWave® a good choice over other hair removal systems?
Using the latest technology in hair removal, ProWave® can rapidly treat large areas safely and effectively on clients with a wide range of skin types. The cooled handpiece increases comfort and minimises the adverse skin reaction commonly seen with other light sources.

CHEMICAL PEELS

Mandelic Acid
Mandelic Acid is extracted from the bitter almond and is an alpha hydroxyl acid (AHA). Alpha hydroxy acids speed up the cellular turnover rate, ridding the skin of dead skill cells that enhance the natural creases in skin and dull the complexion. Mandelic Acid is the largest aromatic AHA. Since it has a large molecular size, as a result, there is less overall irritation when compared with other AHAs, which is beneficial for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to inflammation. In addition, Mandelic acid has an antibacterial effect on the skin, which makes it a viable choice for those with acne-prone skin who want to have a chemical peel but are worried about clogged pores and irritation as a result. A Mandelic acid peel is also a great choice for those who have never had a chemical peel before and want results that are gentle on the skin.

Downtime: Slightly pink post treatment, lasting an hour or so. Mild flaking may occur.

Glycolic Acid
Glycolic acid is derived from Sugar Cane and is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA). Glycolic Acid works as an exfoliating agent because of its high acidity but easy solubility. When placed on the skin it is able to penetrate deep enough and destroy the ‘glue’ like bonds which hold dead skin to the surface. The result is a much-smoother skin surface and a more youthful appearance. Glycolic Acid is ideal for anyone suffering from; congestion, rough/dull skin, pigmentation & milia.

Downtime: Slightly pink post treatment, lasting an hour or so. Mild flaking may occur.

Lactic Acid
Lactic Acid is derived from milk and is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA). Lactic Acid is a good choice for first-time peel users or for those with sensitive or dry skin – Lactic acid is especially good for to use for mature skin.

Downtime: Slightly pink post treatment, lasting an hour or so. Mild flaking may occur.

Salicylic
NOT SUITABLE FOR ANYONE ALLERGIC TO ASPRIN
Salicylic Acid is derived from Willow Bark and belongs to the Beta-Hydroxy Acid group.
Salicylic acid peels can be quite strong, more so than AHA peels. While they are generally suitable for most skin types people with oily, acne-prone skin tend to see the best results, this is because Salicylic has quite high anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.

Downtime: Pink post treatment, similar to a mild sunburn lasting an hour or so. Darkening of pigment can occur which will flake off with mild peeling.

Jessner
NOT SUITABLE FOR ANYONE ALLERGIC TO ASPRIN
A Jessner peel is a medium-depth chemical peel that works to improve skin health by helping remove and heal skin damage that is more extensive than regular “wear and tear.” A Jessner peel is stronger than most superficial chemical peels and therefore creates more temporary damage to the skin in the process. The Jessner peel consists of three main ingredients: lactic acid (assists in the exfoliation of the skin), salicylic acid (aids in penetration), and resorcinol (assists in the treatment of acne).

What Does It Do?
Here are some of the primary benefits of getting a Jessner peel:
• Helps to smooth out various fine lines and wrinkles
• Reduce pore size
• May improve the overall complexion of the face
• Lighten pigmentation
• Can help loosen and reduce acne
• Restores skin to a more healthy, youthful glow

How It Works
A Jessner peel is comprised of three primary ingredients. These ingredients work together to exfoliate the outer layers of skin by breaking up dead skin cells. This treatment encourages the natural peeling to start several days after the chemical. As a general rule, 2-5 layers are applied for the best possible results. Post treatment the area that has been treated is not the be wet for 8 hours – this is because the Jessner peel is self-neutralizing and if the area is wet within 8 hours it will re-active the peel.

If necessary, the Jessner peel can be repeated every four weeks until the desired results are achieved.

What to Expect
First, you will experience dry, tight skin with slight redness. Your skin may also be overly sensitive. It will peel for about a week after the treatment and you can expect your skin to turn from a pink shade to a shade of brown. When the old, damaged skin has all peeled away, you will be left with more refreshed, glowing skin.

Vitamin A
A Vitamin A peel is a mild to moderate peel which is suitable for clients who have been using Vitamin A (Retinol) at home for at least 1 month and are suffering from acne, pigmentation or looking for anti-ageing, skin rejuvenation and a more even skin tone.
The peel is applied after the skin is thoroughly cleansed and is to be left on for 3-8 hours.

Downtime: Slightly pink post treatment, lasting an hour or so. Mild flaking may occur.

CRYOPEN

What is Cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy (‘cold surgery’) is a highly effective and safe procedure that is used to freeze and destroy benign skin lesions. It uses liquefied nitrous oxide to destroy tissue by freezing the inter-cellular fluid which forms ice shards and crystals that rupture the cell membrane, destroying the cell.

How safe is cryotherapy?
cryotherapy is relatively low-risk procedure. DermapenCryo™ delivers N20 directly to the lesion, and not the healthy surrounding tissue.

Is the treatment painful?
There will be a pain sensation similar to a mild sting.

Will there be a follow up session?
A follow up session is recommended after 2- 4 weeks to confirm that all pathological tissue has disappeared or if a follow up treatment is necessary.

Treatment method
First Freeze Cycle – the therapist will hold the applicator as close as possible to the lesion and move it quickly towards and away from it. Depending on the lesion size and depth, the treatment could be 1 to 30 seconds.

Thaw – After the first freezing cycle, the tissue will be allowed to thaw for 30 seconds.

Second Freeze Cycle -The second freeze cycle will start. The tissue will freeze faster than during the first freezing cycle.
