It’s likely that as the years pass by that you can start to notice signs of general aging – possibly in the form of warts, skin tags or sunspots. These generally harmless raised lesions normally appear in areas of dense sun damage or in regions of friction like the underarms, the neckline or bra line for most women! Luckily, we have the Dermapen Cryo available to treat those irritating skin tags.
What causes skin tags?
Skin tags are caused due to an excess of skin cells growing in the top layers of skin, with friction playing a role in the areas they form. They do not discriminate and occur in both men and women, as well as being more frequent in those with Type 2 Diabetes.
How do you remove skin tags?
In a matter of seconds, the Dermapen Cryo can deliver liquified Nitrous Oxide that destroys the excess skin cells targeted, diminishing the size of the lesion! Safe to use on all areas of the body, including the face & scalp.
Does it hurt?
The sensation you can expect is similar to a cold pen pressed onto the skin, with a warm sensation over the following hour to be expected in the area. The treatment is fast and pain-free, with most lesions taking anywhere between 5-30 seconds to be treated.
Do I have to come back?
We want to make sure the lesion is treated and gone, so a follow-up appointment is scheduled 4 weeks later to review the problem area. Potentially you may require more treatments, depending on the size of lesion and the skins response to treatment.
